Tiki Lodge

The staff were pleasant, and the room was bigger than I expected. It was fairly clean, with better lighting and a more comfortable bed than at some of my recent motel stays. I needed an inexpensive place close to where I had to be in the morning, and this did the job.

The most alarming problem was that the bathroom had no electricity and the switch box was exposed, with live wires. I called the front desk as soon as I got to the room. There were plenty of other problems too: a broken cupboard, just one working lamp, dirty floors and toilet, and a door frame that looked like someone had broken in. I asked the woman at the front office to move me, but she said the hotel was full and promised to send maintenance. Nobody came. When I checked online, rooms were still available for that evening, which seemed plausible since there were only three cars in the whole parking lot. She lied to me and left me in a broken room. I think she may be prejudiced or racist, or something. I don’t know why she would treat me that way. Avoid this place if you want a pleasant day somewhere.

For the entire week I stayed there, I had no phone in my room. I complained to staff multiple times every day, but nothing was done. They were rude, dismissive, and no help at all. About three days into the stay, the power suddenly went out and the bathroom lights sparked. It happened in the morning and took the whole day to fix. Another guest told me the rest of the wing had lost power too. Electrical problems are serious and scary. I won’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemies.

The hotel was nice, and I liked having a firm bed since I don’t like soft ones. The showers were hot and the outlets worked. There were lots of good food places nearby, and the teriyaki spice was pretty good. The rooms are non-smoking, but there are plenty of spots outside to smoke. Washington can be rough, so it was nice to spend time indoors. Ready for the next city.
