Inn at the Mill, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I stay in hotels a lot, and this one felt like a real treat. The lobby had a fireplace sitting area, lovely molding and paneling, and quality furniture. There was even a heat lamp in the bathroom. The breakfast was magnificent, and everyone was friendly. Best of all, the cozy, quiet surroundings and good bedding and pillows gave me one of the best nights of hotel sleep I can remember. I’m looking forward to coming back.

I miss the lotion line they used to have, but this is still the best place around for me. I stay here whenever I’m in the area. It’s comfortable and clean, the staff are always friendly, and they make you feel like family. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

The original mill mechanics are still there, worked right into the lobby decor, which gives this hotel a lot of historical character. It’s very quiet, and the breakfast is small but has some variety. The place seems a little past its prime after a high-dollar renovation a couple of decades ago, but it’s still a great value for a distinctive Ozark stay.

The staff at check-in were friendly and got me settled smoothly, though the front desk interactions at other times felt a bit overwhelming and somewhat unprofessional. I wasn’t recognized as a platinum guest, so I hope my extra points were added. I booked partly because I expected a manager’s reception, but that doesn’t exist. The location in Springdale is convenient, with easy access to I49, and the hotel has interesting history and a relaxing look. My bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Breakfast wasn’t awful, but relied heavily on processed, premade food, with some strawberries and blueberries. Almost everything was cold, despite a microwave for heating the quiche, and they ran out of coffee both mornings. Otherwise, the stay went well, and I might stay again while passing through.
