Sleep Inn & Suites Springdale West

The location worked well, close to 49 and other places to eat. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you have a lot of hair, since they only provide small bottles. We were four people. Breakfast was the basic kind you'd expect. Service was great when we checked in at night, high five. I had to spend a few minutes finding the front desk attendant in the morning, but it wasn't a big deal.

The hotel was okay for cleanliness and service, but management's handling of reservations really gives me pause. My advice is to pay in full up front. Otherwise, if the card on file doesn't process quickly enough, the manager may use it as a reason to cancel and charge more. That's what happened to me, and I wouldn't want someone else to get caught in it. I booked Friday night through Sunday morning. While I was standing in line to check in, I got an email saying the reservation had been canceled. The manager had tried to charge my card for the whole stay ahead of time, and my card company declined it after wrongly flagging it as fraud. I've never had a hotel do that unless I'd chosen a cheaper advance purchase rate that says the full amount is due right away. Usually I pay the room fee and incidental holds when I arrive. The manager canceled instead of calling about the card. When I asked why, the front desk agent said they were too busy. They were able to rebook the same room type, thankfully, since nobody had taken it in the 15-20 minutes I'd waited in line after the email. But the new price was $51 higher than my original booking, which was already absurdly expensive because of the Texas game. It felt like they were squeezing another $51 out of the room. In its response, Paul said the cancellation had nothing to do with possibly getting an even more inflated price. Give me a break. I'm sure canceling without a call had absolutely nothing to do with that 🙄.

After 25 years of travel, this is the best hotel we've stayed at. The staff are easily the best I've seen, so friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge, and the place is quiet, cozy, and comfortable. It really feels like home. Every hotel should be run this way.

Really comfy beds and a super nice desk attendant. If you need anything, just ask and they get right on it. Loved it ☺️
