Best Western Plus Grand Manor Inn

The location is great, and the place isn’t a dump, but we didn’t feel it was worth the price. We’ve stayed at BW Plus hotels in other towns and expected better. The staff were very nice, though the room and amenities disappointed us. Our floor’s ice maker was broken, the bathtub light was out, the pillows were lumpy, and the towels were skimpy. Hot water in the sink made the pipes rattle and pound. The TV resolution was surprisingly poor, and an employee said it was “too complicated for us to make an instruction sheet” before shifting some HDMI cables to get it working. The coffee maker was placed where there was no outlet, so we had to move it to the desk. An extra mirror on one of the bare walls would have helped too. At checkout, the staffer didn’t ask how our stay was, perhaps expecting a bad answer, and unlike nearly everyone else in today’s economy, Grand Manor hasn’t asked us for a review.

I arrived very late and had to leave at 6 a.m., so I can’t speak to the rest of the amenities. But the bed in my room was unbelievably comfortable, probably one of the best I’ve slept in. If you’re only there to sleep, it gets a 10/10 from me. Honestly, I rarely leave hotel reviews.

We booked and arrived late, so I wasn’t expecting the room to suit us particularly well. Turns out it did, big, clean, and full of amenities. Mahalo Best Western Plus!!

The rooms have been remodeled nicely, and the location is great, but we won’t be back. We’ve been going to BW for 40 years and this front desk experience was lacking. We arrived seven minutes before 4 and were told we had to wait. At 4 we got a key, then were told our room still needed 20 minutes because of an “inpection.” We ended up waiting an hour after a four-hour drive, with no water or restroom offered and no alternative room, while other guests went straight to theirs. We also didn’t get our rewards points, so I’ve had to contact rewards to fix that. When we arrived, we wanted to use points, but the desk person said no because I hadn’t done it at booking, even though I tried to book directly with them and use points then. Won’t be going there ever!
