The staff were a real bright spot. Steve handled a rush of check-ins with such calm and grace, and the rooms were otherwise clean and orderly. Getting there from northbound I-5 was a bit awkward, though that’s not really the hotel’s fault. Noise was the biggest problem for us. We heard guests’ footsteps, doors slamming, and movement overhead all night, with sound carrying through the ceiling. It wasn’t renovation noise, just everyday activity, and I’m sure they could hear us too. It was especially hard on guests with pets, since the constant noise kept them unsettled. The bathroom was cramped, with the door barely clearing the toilet, and the showerhead was low and couldn’t be adjusted. The TV worked, but its remote wouldn’t reach the sensor from the bed, so changing channels or turning it off was a hassle. I stayed while renovations were underway, so that may have affected things. Either way, we won’t be back.

The breakfast was tasty and served every day from 6 to 10. Staff were excellent, and the rooms were comfortable. One of the best places I’ve stayed in lately.

The construction noise went on all day, and the pool and fitness center were closed. We also paid surge rates for the room. Breakfast was very good, and service was excellent. The room was clean when we arrived, but housekeeping came only once in five nights, and I had to ask for it. No one warned me that my card would be charged at the $1,000 mark. We’d told them twice that my brother and I were splitting the bill, half on his card. There were so many holds on my card that AMEX sent fraud alerts.

I stayed here for my anniversary so my wife and I could have drinks and walk back. We’re local, and they made me pay a $250 deposit just for being from Eugene or within 50 miles of it. A couple of days later I stopped by in the middle of the night to get a receipt copy, but the guys wouldn’t let me in. That was at 2:45 a.m. on 1/18/2015.
