Spark by Hilton Springfield Southwest

The mattress was excellent, the room was quiet, and I slept great. It was clean, with attention to detail, and breakfast had a good variety for the Sparks brand. We trust Hilton and find its hotels usually meet our expectations. Other chains are getting sloppy. Please keep your hotels current and well cared for, and don't follow their trends.

After driving 200 miles, I was hoping to find a room at Spark, and Harsh greeted me with a smile and quickly got me the last one available. It was in good shape, and the plumbing worked, unlike on my first visit. I gave Spark another try after that first stay, even though I hadn't had much reason to. When I ended up near Springfield the next night, I took another chance and Harsh welcomed me again, remembering my name. He's exactly the kind of person you want in customer service. Spark should give him a raise or promotion.

Online check-in is great. I could go straight to my room, which is handy since I usually travel for work and bring food for my shifts. The tiny fridge was a letdown, and there's no microwave. Other than that, no complaints. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet enough, the location was fine, and the shower was okay.

Breakfast was pretty basic, though there was a decent range of choices like bagels, muffins, yogurt, and cereal. A-Aron was amazing at check-in, with great customer service. The man at checkout was nice too, though I didn't get his name. I noticed water damage above the shower and the bathroom door wouldn't quite close properly. I reported both problems as I checked out, and they said they'd take care of them. It was a great experience overall.
