The hotel’s extra cost over a chain is worth it to us, and we plan to return. It’s within walking distance of several coffee shops and restaurants, and the loading zone was convenient for downtown. Automatic doors made handling our luggage easy. Parking across the street was complimentary but tight, so we also found nearby street parking. We came for a birthday celebration and were treated royally from the moment we entered the impressive lobby and met the professional staff. Our fourth-floor room in the original building felt private and secure. It was spacious, modern, and very comfortable, with exceptionally comfortable beds, in a historically preserved structure. The restaurant served excellent food with great service.

Dinner at The Order was incredible. We had the bread service, including sourdough cornbread that was out of this world, and excellent cocktails. My wife had scallops and I chose the ribbon salad, then we both ordered the KC Strip with black truffle jus. It was heavenly from the first bite to the last. A glass of port finished the meal beautifully. I took my wife for Valentine's Day, our first one out in 20 years, and it was a grand slam. The room was gorgeous, clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The champagne I’d ordered for our arrival wasn’t there, but one quick call to the desk sorted it out, thanks Zee! I’ll definitely return. Staying in all the different suites at the Hotel Vandivort is now on my bucket list.

I love the record players in the rooms, and there’s plenty to look at in the beautiful buildings, which have a ton of character. Everything is classy, clean, smells nice, and is in great shape. When I’m in town for work, I really enjoy staying at the Vandivort. It’s so much better than a cookie-cutter big chain hotel, and my number one choice in Springfield.

Robert, the security guard, was pleasant when I spoke with him and apologized for how the bartender/waiter had handled things. He could see we weren’t the problem, and I appreciated him taking the time to talk. The rest of the staff were great and accommodating, but this incident completely ruined our evening, and I’m not sure we’ll return. We loved the hotel, atmosphere, staff, and food, but our expensive Valentine’s evening was cut short after dinner at the Order. We went up to Vantage, where the bartender/waiter refused me service, saying I was slurring my words. My husband explained that we hadn’t been drinking there and that my speech is affected by an impediment. The waiter was rude and curt, then called security. I think he misread the situation. A couple next to us, whom we’d chatted with while waiting for our table at the Order and who invited us to sit with them at Vantage, seemed extremely intoxicated. She’d already been cut off, and we were later told she was asked to leave. It was very disappointing to spend so much, dress up, and be refused service when we’d just come from dinner and weren’t even close to intoxicated.

We love going to Hotel Vanderbilt, or Hotel V, for date nights and nights out. My husband and I go often because it’s easy, fun, and feels like a getaway without leaving town. You can walk to restaurants, nightlife, coffee, and entertainment. The place feels classy without being stuffy, lively without being chaotic, and always welcoming. The food and drinks are worth trying. The menu is small but thoughtful, fresh, creative, and carefully made. Drinks are distinctive, and you can tell quality matters. I also appreciate their support for local farmers and use of local ingredients, which shows care for local businesses and the community. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, with great views that mix city energy and calm. The lighting deserves a shoutout too: it’s bright, warm, and intentional, making the spaces look good and work beautifully for vlogging or content creation. For those who film or take photos, or anyone who likes attractive spaces, it delivers every time. Between the atmosphere, cleanliness, walkability, food, and drinks, Hotel V earns a 10 out of 10 from us. It’s our favorite Springfield spot for a date, a night out, or a little escape. Hotel V never misses. 💯✨
