Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield

The front desk was very accommodating, and I slept well in the comfortable bed. I also enjoyed the spa and the great waffle machine at breakfast. The refrigerator in my first room was noisy, but they moved me to another room, which was perfect.

The room was clean, though small, and there was no refrigerator or microwave. The hallways were muddy because construction workers were staying there, which wasn't much the hotel could do about. It was close to where I needed to go, so if I have to return to Springfield, I'd stay there instead of driving.

It was easy to find and in a great location, but I won't stay again. The bed was hard, and I could hear someone snoring in the next room all night through the thin walls. The toilet kept filling up, so I had to hold the handle down until it flushed. The bathroom door squeaked loudly enough to wake the other person when I went in at night. Breakfast was stale, the juice machine didn't work, and the toaster didn't brown the bread.

The town was cute, and for a rural-area hotel this was a pretty good stay. Our room was spacious and clean, and the man who checked us in was nice. There was no coffee maker, and breakfast had no hot options except the waffle maker. The jacuzzi looked old and dirty, though it may just need fresh paint. Still, we had a good visit.
