Quality Inn & Suites Chesterfield Village

The parking was adequate, and it’s easy to reach from the highway. The lobby was clean, and the night manager was pleasant. That was about where the positives ended. The ratings, reviews, and photos on hotels.com made the place look far better than what I found; I can’t see it earning more than a 4 there. Our room had dark, greasy-looking stains on both gray bedspreads, yellow streaks running down the cream walls, rusty lamp bases, and spotted shades. There was a musty smell, and worn, chipped, peeling paint seemed to be everywhere. The TV turned on and off, but wasn’t connected to local channels, and there were no directions for setting up local stations or streaming. The pool floor had chunks of plaster missing, while the pool room walls bubbled and peeled. Dust and dead bugs had gathered along the floors and in the corners. The furniture was shabby, including a cheap plastic table held together with glue and screws. Breakfast was just okay. There were powdered rehydrated eggs, sausage patties, biscuits, gravy, waffles, and drinks like juice, milk, and coffee.

We booked the wrong date by mistake, and the original reservation is still a month away. If the front desk employee had treated us respectfully, we would have stayed in an available room. Her unfriendly manner made us choose another place, and now they’re refusing to refund us.

This was my second stay, and the staff were all so welcoming and nice. I left my tablet behind by accident, called to ask if anyone had found it, and they had. They kept it safe so someone could pick it up for me. I was really impressed.

Whenever I stay here, Joe at the front desk is friendly and has good suggestions for places to eat nearby. The rooms are consistently up to par.
