I was looking at reviews for Springfield Loft Apts because my current lease elsewhere is almost up, and Meghan Ulrich's one-star review stood out. Giving a place one star because you parked in a private lot for two hours despite seeing the no public parking signs, then got towed, seems bananas to me. Sorry, but that's on you. A fifth grader could understand the sign. Sure, it's only a civil violation, but it still says no parking, not “no parking except Meghan Ulrich.” You saw the signs and parked anyway, then complained about paying $300 as if the penalty should be negotiable because you thought it was too much. Where does that sense of entitlement come from? You said you were there two hours. A lot can happen in that time. Maybe if you'd handled your business and come right back in five or ten minutes, it might not have been a big deal, but I wouldn't risk it. If you'd gotten away with parking there, you might have made a habit of it, and friends could have started doing the same. That's how the domino effect starts. Tenants who pay to live there need the spaces. It's frustrating to come home and find the lot full of people who don't live in the building, taking spots from residents who actually pay to park there. You knowingly used a private parking area, which means it's not public parking. It's simple: follow the rules, even when it's inconvenient. Getting caught and accepting the penalty is one thing. Posting a public complaint about being fined when you knew you were doing something wrong is another. Maybe next time, put yourself in someone else's shoes.

I've rented lots of apartments in Springfield, many of them owned by TLC, and this company is easily the best I've rented from. I've lived in two different SLA properties, and my current apartment is amazing. I haven't needed many maintenance requests in the past year, and when I have, they've been fixed promptly. The staff are super nice too. I'll be renting from them for a long time. I almost wish I could buy my apartment from them, haha.

We had a wonderful time living here, and I'd really like to rent one of these lovely lofts again when my current lease ends. Maintenance always came to check any issues we had. They also let us know whenever there was a showing. Our loft had a washer, dryer, and dishwasher, and they kept the entryways clean. I got most of my deposit back. They did take a little out because I hadn't changed a couple of light bulbs.

I parked beside the building while delivering a cake to the Blue Room Comedy Club. The lot was almost empty, and I missed the permit-only sign on the gate. Less than two hours later, I came back to find my car had been towed at the manager's request. I honestly thought it had been stolen, which was alarming. When I spoke with Lindsey Schopp, we were told another company patrols the area for cars without permits. I believe that explanation was false. Getting the car back cost me $300, which felt like far too much for such a short time parked there. I know parking rules matter, and I accept that I should have noticed the sign. Still, a warning or a smaller penalty would have seemed more reasonable. I hope management handles these situations with more understanding in the future, and that other visitors pay close attention to the restrictions.

They send text reminders ahead of events, and the maintenance crew gets through its work quickly. The staff are responsive and easy to work with. They've made several improvements to the place during my stay, and it's impressive how effectively they follow up.
