The rooms and hallways were in such rough shape that the hotel's handy location near downtown barely mattered. I was in Missouri for my father's memorial and had booked Americas Best Value Inn & Suites to stay nearby, so this was especially upsetting. It looked like a major renovation was underway: carpet had been pulled up, materials were scattered around, and the indoor pool area seemed more like a work zone than somewhere to relax. The place felt unsafe, dirty, and badly managed. Guests should be told about construction in advance, or the hotel should close until the work is done. I can't recommend staying here before that.
