Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Louis St. Charles

It's January 10th, and we're back to see my in-laws for a late Christmas celebration. We knew we'd be staying here again, and I was delighted when the same kind person welcomed us back at check-in. Geneva (I hope I got that right) is a big reason we return. The hotel has always been a family favorite, and after our first visit in November 2024, we were sold. We'd originally planned to use another chain where my husband, who has a different last name, is a member, but its reviews led us to look elsewhere. In November, we arrived the weekend after Thanksgiving for a birthday and were greeted like family. Geneva encouraged my husband to join, and honestly, we didn't want to say no to our grandma Geneva. Our visits are short, but her warmth means a lot to us. The daytime men working when we checked out on November 30th were okay, though check-in has always been lovely. After driving and visiting, often with young children, it's a relief to come back somewhere quiet, spacious, and welcoming. Being away from home feels a little easier here. 🩷

The whole place is very clean, with beautiful rooms bigger than my apartment, a pool, and 3 elevators. It's 10 minutes from old town saint charles, and the service was delightful. The woman making fresh omelettes in the morning is so sweet. Breakfast was pretty good, though one round sausage was still frozen in the middle, and we won't have dinner there again. Otherwise, everything was fantastic, with so many drink choices.

The rooms feel tired and need updating. My furniture and drapes were stained, though a renovation could make this a great hotel. For now, the dated room is the downside of an otherwise convenient stay. The manager was wonderful: he dealt with my issue quickly and professionally, and his gracious attitude made a strong impression. I wish I'd gotten his name. The location is excellent, less than ten minutes from the airport outside peak traffic. My flight boarded at 1145a, and I left at 11:10 and still arrived with time to spare. Breakfast and the coffee shop on site were handy ways to start the day.

This is my usual place to stay when I come home for a visit. The staff are very accommodating, and the African-American lady who runs the breakfast grill is AMAZING!! She's friendly, patient, and kind, and remembers her guests so well. I did have a dog in the room next door, which was the only downside 😮😳. I should've noted it in my reservation, and I'd recommend doing that so barking doesn't disturb you while you're trying to rest 🤣. Until next time!
