Relax Inn Saint Charles

This motel feels like my home away from home, and the people who own and run it are super nice. I stay here often and love everything about the place. I do wish they’d replace the vintage bed comforters, though. They could sell them on Facebook Marketplace, someone would buy them. 😀

The only good things were that there was no deposit and the hot water was hot with good pressure. Even at the lower price, staying at Relax Inn wasn’t worth the stress of dealing with pests and cleanliness myself. I paid to relax, but instead I was on edge about everything I touched and trying to keep ants off me. They crawled into my clothes and tickled me all night. It was obvious management wasn’t cleaning even the basic, visible parts of the rooms. The parking lot lights flickered all night like Morse code, which got annoying, and the bathroom’s drop ceiling was falling inward.

The room was disgusting and looked and smelled as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a year or more. The bed linens hadn’t been changed, and I slept on blankets and sheets someone else had used. There were dead bugs on the floor. This place won’t pass code. I’m calling on them and want my money back immediately. Just disgusting!

The hotel is close to several retailers, and the owner got the room deeply cleaned within an hour after I pointed out it wasn’t clean when I checked in early. For a cheap hotel, I’m giving it five stars.
