The room was roomy and had the usual amenities, and being able to park right by the door was handy. We also liked having two outdoor chairs. The lake view is lovely during the day, and the grounds are well lit after dark. Our Thursday night cost $89.72 for one night. The bathroom, especially the shower, was disappointing: it took ages for the water to warm and it never got much beyond lukewarm. We also struggled with the remote. Even with the detailed instructions, the TV wouldn't work until we tried turning it on and off repeatedly.

Watching the sunrise from room 9 on my birthday made it the best birthday ever. The lake access is a nice bonus, and the stars at night were phenomenal. I loved the views and the 70s rustic feel, with hardwood walls and older details you have to notice to appreciate. It really shows off the best parts of old Michigan. Amanda, the manager, was absolutely wonderful. I can't wait to come back.

I went in with low expectations after reading some reviews, but Bayview ended up exceeding them in most ways. The location worked well, and the price was right. My dog cost just $20.00 for two nights. The bathroom was a little below what I expected, but all in all, we were happy with our stay.

We chose this place for an overnight stop because we wanted to be near the water without paying $400, but it wasn't worth the price. We arrived at 4:45, and the front desk lady was nice, but our room hadn't been cleaned. We went out for dinner while we waited. There was only half a roll of toilet paper and no spare, and the wall had stains. A handle was missing from one piece of furniture. The beach looked pretty, though it was covered in goose poop and smelled like it. I wouldn't stay here again.

I barely slept, mostly because the room felt dirty and the noise carried so badly. We could hear every word from the next room while they had an ordinary conversation and watched TV, until they turned in around midnight. The sheets had stains, then we spotted lots of hairs, dirt, and sand, so it seemed they hadn't been changed after the previous guests. We got help from someone after the front desk worker had left. He quickly changed the sheets, but planned to leave the blankets, so we chose to sleep with just the sheets. He seemed sorry and was trying his best, though it looked like he was handling a lot alone. My husband also found a radiator with sharp edges and no cover hidden behind a chair, which isn't good with kids and seems hazardous when the heat is on. We only needed somewhere to crash during a 13-hour drive. Reviews made this seem like a great spot, but I wouldn't stay again. I'm confused by the positive comments about cleanliness.
