St. Ignace Budget Host Inn

It's a budget hotel, but probably the nicest Budget Host I've found. The place is clean and well kept, and you can tell they take pride in it. The people are lovely. We arrived late, and they kept the pool open a little longer so the kids could swim. It's a great spot overlooking the harbor.

Eric was at the front desk when we checked in and was super friendly. He gave us pizza suggestions and was great to talk to. Our room was awesome, and the jacuzzi was the best. My only complaint is the small shower and its rain shower head. I prefer more water pressure, though maybe that's because the room has a jacuzzi. I'd definitely stay here again.

I booked my daughter's pool party weeks ahead and made clear on the call that it was a pool party. When we arrived, I tried to pay by debit card and was told it was cash only, which seemed odd for a hotel. After unloading the car with the birthday food and supplies, I was told the pool was broken and we couldn't use it. I don't know why nobody called to let me know. I was left with 30 minutes to find another place for my daughter's party and contact everyone invited. Poor management. I wouldn't recommend this place.

For a budget motel, it was excellent for the price. The rooms were clean and spacious, and being so close to the ferry was perfect. Breakfast was basic, with waffles, bagels, and cereal, but it did the job. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and friendly. It's obviously not a five-star, fancy hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised.
