Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Louis Downtown

I had a great four-night stay, and I think this Embassy Suites deserves a better score. The staff were courteous and helpful, and the evening reception was a nice extra. My room was spacious, the pool and workout area were great, and breakfast was fantastic. It’s one of the best Embassy Suites I’ve visited.

We ate at the Atrium for dinner as well as breakfast, and both meals were good. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of options, and the staff were friendly. We were there for three business nights. Check-in was at 4 p.m. and checkout at noon, which I appreciated since we had time to fill before leaving. Still, room service knocked at 9:30 Sunday morning to ask if I’d left. I was hoping to sleep in and take my time getting ready and having breakfast. I’m glad I wasn’t in the shower, because she might have come in. The walls were thin, and noisy neighbors spent much of the night yelling at each other despite quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. There isn’t really self-parking, so you have to use paid overnight valet. I wish parking were included since there’s no real alternative.

The breakfast and dining staff showed real hospitality. The cooks went out of their way, and Ridge was great to see in action. Tera handled the happy-hour rush with patience, a smile, and good energy. Our room was clean and had plenty of towels, and the valet was quick, even making it easy to get a new sticker when we switched cars. The front desk woman with the amazing style greeted us every time, which felt so nice. We stayed from Christmas through Saturday, and the whole visit was wonderful. Thanks again!

Breakfast was full of fresh things I could have hoped for. Lamont made an omelet just the way I wanted it, and Adidya greeted me warmly. When we were checking out at 6:30 a.m. and the front desk agent was on break, Bagdad did everything he could to help us on our way. The room felt grand, spacious, cozy, and well appointed, with a magnificent shower roomy enough for two. Ahmaree was reassuring and friendly at check-in. Kim in the cocktail lounge was already packing up when we arrived, but stopped to make me a lemon drop martini, which is now my favorite. She kindly made drinks for the people behind us too. It was a fabulous stay, and we’ll be back when we get the chance.
