Drury Inn & Suites St. Louis St. Peters

The room’s mold and mildew smell was strong as soon as we walked in. There was standing water on the AC unit and wet carpet nearby, making the room feel uncomfortable and unsanitary. The pool area smelled musty too, and the surrounding tile looked dirty and poorly maintained. My family started feeling unwell, so we checked out early. We don’t make that decision lightly, especially after many good stays at Drury properties. The staff were friendly and courteous, but this visit to Drury Inn & Suites St. Peters was far below what I’ve come to expect from the brand. I hope management addresses the cleanliness and maintenance problems so this location can meet Drury’s usual standards.

My ex-husband took our girls to St. Peter’s for shopping, and their stay at this hotel turned into a horrible experience. First the remote needed new batteries, then the tub was clogged. After they tried to clear it, the bath water came out brown. The front desk moved them to a different room, but the water there was brown too when they tried to shower. When he called down again, the woman at the desk had a terrible attitude. My youngest is autistic and was already upset about changing rooms. She got angry because he said there was “brown shit” coming out of the faucets and his kids couldn’t bathe. He didn’t curse at her, but she told him to leave or she’d call the police to remove him. He went to the desk to talk, and she was still rude and aggressive with him in front of the children. My autistic child was very upset. She kicked him out at 10 pm, and he had to drive two hours home with my child crying the whole way because she’d been excited to stay in a hotel. He has videos and pictures of the brown water from the bath faucets. He showed them to the front desk, and they still didn’t care. I’m very upset by how he was treated and the unprofessional behavior in front of my children. My ex-husband is likely to call a lawyer about the unsanitary, possibly contaminated water and how staff treated him. We’ve stayed at Drury Inn locations around the US many times without problems, but from now on we’ll probably choose a different company.

We had a wonderful stay at this Drury last month, so we came back. The staff were just as kind and helpful this time, but a few things were off. Our room smelled strongly of cologne and vaping, enough to give us both headaches. It looked like housekeeping had rushed, since some things weren’t up to standard, and most of the breakfast fruit was so brown it couldn’t be eaten. We still enjoyed our stay, but would have given five stars if those issues were fixed.

We spotted this place on the left while heading toward St. Louis, where we wanted to stop on our way to Colorado. The other spots we passed looked kind of questionable, but this one seemed like just what we needed. We arrived around 8 pm, and the girl at the front desk was so helpful and pleasant. She got us a clean room with two beds, and the people working in the morning were friendly too. Breakfast was free, and we slept great. The rate was about $160 plus a $50 refundable deposit. We’d definitely stay again.
