Motel 6-Saint Robert, MO

My well-behaved, sweet emotional support dog was turned away at the Super 8 in Lebanon, MO, because they said she was too big. I had booked and paid for that room online, so I came to this Motel 6 instead and was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was. The linens weren't the usual hotel/motel fare; they looked fashionably updated. The staff were fantastic, and my dog stayed free. I'd definitely come back.

We finally left at 2:30 in the morning because people on drugs in the room above us were screaming and stomping back and forth. Before that, I'd woken up to use the restroom, turned on the lights, and found four roaches crawling around the bathroom floor and sink. I felt so sick I could barely go back to sleep. The room smelled like urine, the towels had hair on them, and the carpet was so disgusting I wouldn't walk barefoot. I nearly left as soon as we got there, but we'd been driving all night. This was the worst experience I've had at a Motel 6 or any motel. Please don't waste your money. Hampton Inn is down the road, just $50 more, and includes breakfast. I'll never make the mistake of staying here again.

The counter by the sink was big enough for two, and the microwave and mini fridge were useful. The TV was great. The room was clean, and the desk staff were pleasant, though the towels were smaller than I'm used to at home and the bathroom ceiling needs repairs. The toilet is right beside the other toilet with a door, so there's not much room if you're bigger, but I managed fine. It was a little noisy because our two big dogs bark at doors shutting at the motel. No real problems otherwise, and we'll probably return.

After nearly a full day on the road, I just wanted to relax. Check-in was quick and easy, and the man at the desk was funny, charming, and engaging. Then I found someone already in the room I'd been assigned. I drove back to the office, and they fixed it within seconds. The replacement room was empty, clean, well cared for, and had all the accommodations I'd originally requested. It was very comfortable, and checkout was a breeze.
