Amsterdam Hotel

The room was enormous, spotless, and the common areas were clean and well cared for. The staff were very friendly, too. It’s clearly not a new property, but for the price and location, with free parking, I’m very satisfied. The building feels solid and I didn’t hear noise between rooms. Breakfast is free and has plenty of options, and the coffee was excellent. One tip: East Main St is noisy with traffic. If that could bother you, ask for a room on the other side of the building.

The building has seen better days, but it’s clean and maintained, and there’s lots of free parking. Rooms have a fridge and microwave. The staff are great, friendly, and informative. It’s well located and reasonably priced for a road trip up or down the east coast. Free continental breakfast and wifi, too.

Worst experience ever. We paid for late checkout until 2pm so our kid could rest, but when we came back at noon, we were locked out. I understand the key had to be activated, but it took 20 minutes to reboot the computer and log in. I wonder if I can give zero stars. The hotel charged us for extra time and then wasted it with no issues of its own. The staff were just fine as usual.

Check-in was quick and easy, and the front desk gentleman was welcoming. For a short stay, this place isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t recommend more than one night if you’re used to major hotel chains. The rooms are badly outdated and need a major upgrade. The bed was very hard, the furniture didn’t look wiped down and felt uncomfortable to use, and the bathroom needs work too. I can’t remember the last time I saw a drop ceiling in a hotel. For the price, I expected more. I should have paid extra to stay closer to HPN, though a round-trip Uber ride to HPN was $100.
