DoubleTree by Hilton Stamford

I usually stay at Hilton properties, and for me it comes down to comfort and service. The bed was comfortable, the room clean, and the restaurant team was especially dedicated. Their attention to customers is unmatched, and breakfast is always good. Every visit feels lively rather than routine. Ramdas deserves a special mention; he's the best at service.

We stayed at the end of February and found this one of the best-staffed places we've experienced as frequent travelers. Everyone was helpful, polite, exceptional, and knowledgeable. At Starbucks, Dieunise (sp?), from Haiti, took wonderful care of us. Dieni (sp?), a lovely hostess from Romania, was great in the cafe, and Ramdas spoke with us about Lucknow in the state of Utter Pradish. These are the kind of employees who should be valued and encouraged.

I was comfortable during my four business nights, and the staff were friendly, kind, engaged, and excellent. I even got a very welcome surprise when they upgraded me to a suite. The room was dated but clean and comfortable. Some charging outlets didn't work or were too loose to hold a charger, which should be noted. The common spaces need a major refresh: hallway carpets were torn and dirty, the elevators smelled bad, and the paint needs patching or redoing. It's a huge property with conference and ballrooms, though during my midweek stay they didn't seem to be in use. I didn't try the restaurant, but appreciated the shared microwaves and work areas. The area immediately around the hotel felt a little sketchy, so I didn't want to walk anywhere. Parking beneath the hotel was easy at $25 a night, with an elevator straight to the lobby. The location was still very convenient for the places I was visiting, and I'd come back for the staff alone.

My stay was good overall. The morning team were much nicer and more helpful than the night staff during Feb 28 to march 1, 2026. The hotel store had no original-flavor seltzer or anything equivalent. The garage layout is odd and unintuitive, its elevator makes loud noises, and the room walls are thin enough that you can hear neighbors talking without much trouble.
