Stamford Suites

This place was so dated, and my six-day stay was a mess. I'd booked months ahead for a queen suite with a sofa bed, but there wasn't one. The front desk guy offered to switch rooms, but I said not to go to the trouble and asked for a rollaway instead. He told me they didn't have one. I had to use my phone to translate with housekeeping, and eventually she got us the bed. I also had to ask repeatedly for cooking appliances, which I only got after translating on my phone, and for a smart TV in the living room, which took a few days. The front desk guy seemed clueless about almost everything. So disappointed.

The room was dirty and dated, with badly stained carpet and a horribly uncomfortable bed. The microwave looked new but didn't work, and the TV in the main area had a blown speaker. Even the soda machine was empty. Breakfast was a joke, just cheap cereal, apples and coffee, and they wouldn't let us take it back to the room. That seemed strange when there are appliances for keeping food if you bring your own. I wouldn't recommend this place, and I'll let the provider know so they don't book more stays here for their patients.

The room was dirty before we even settled in: bugs were flying around and there were bugs on the beds, including bedbugs. The trashcan already had trash in it, the countertops had pubic hair, and the power went out randomly. I booked for January 16, and arriving was a very unpleasant process. I got there at 6 AM, and the employee was asleep on a couch under a blanket. His shift may have ended around 7 to 7:30, but instead of telling us it was over, he walked out without updating the next employee. I've been trying to reach the General Manager, but the front desk manager has hung up on me several times and says I'm not allowed to speak because I won't listen to him. He seems misogynistic and dismissive of women. We could have resolved this without me leaving this Preview, but he fell to speak with me.

I booked Stamford Suites for a quiet night after a long workweek and a shower before a business meeting. The room was adequate, just a bed and shower, but the shower became dangerous. With soap in my eyes, the water suddenly turned scalding hot. The handle spun freely and wouldn't adjust the temperature or shut off, so I scrambled out and burned my back and neck. I called the front desk right away. The staff member only focused on the shower not turning off and never asked if I was injured or needed medical help, even though I said I'd been burned. A maintenance worker came, then locked the elevator on the third floor for his convenience, so I had to take the stairs. When I got back to the room, my cell phone was missing. The maintenance worker had it, thankfully, but that added to the frustration. I left expecting a call from the manager, but none came. When I called, the front desk said the manager wasn't available, wouldn't give me their name or email, and told me to call later. Management showed no care for my safety or well-being. I strongly advise against staying here, especially with children, because the shower system is a serious hazard. Test the shower before using it to avoid burns or injury.
