Comfort Inn Stanton

The breakfast was poor, with cold eggs, and the place was noisy and unprofessional. Customer service was terrible, so I’d look somewhere else. Subway nearby had very good service, though.

I was there for two nights, and the rooms weren’t cleaned. The pool and gym were out of service.

The online pictures don’t seem accurate. The breakfast was great, but the rest of the room had problems everywhere. There was black mold on the tub, the bathroom wall was falling apart, and a spot on the wall had been redone very sloppily. The toilet barely flushed, ran all night, and overflowed once. Things kept breaking down. The housekeepers walked past the trash I left outside the door for two days without taking it. The pool room felt like a sauna, though at least the water was warm.

The front desk staff were really nice, and that counts for a lot with me. The rooms were pretty good, too. There are only two hotels in Stanton, so if you’re an oilfield worker wanting to be near the area’s oil and gas plants, this is a decent get-by option. It seems to be full of oilfield workers. The old room cards need replacing: they have to be rescanned every other day or so, which is frustrating when you get back and they don’t work. The desk staff seem trained to apologize for the hassle. Breakfast is adequate if you’re in a pinch, but don’t expect much. The internet was very slow, like old dial-up.
