Motel 7

The location was good and the rate was cheap, $60, but it wasn't worth finding roaches in the towels when I went to shower. The staff didn't seem to care. Disgusting.

Motel 7 is the best of the 8-9 independent motels in Statesville, in my opinion. The rooms are spacious, clean, and nice, and the place looks more like a franchise motel than an independent one. The staff are really nice and always ready to help. There's wifi, a microwave, AC, and a refrigerator in the room. I'd recommend it to friends and family.

The staff were friendly and the maid was sweet, the only two things I enjoyed. I spent two days killing what must have been 75 or more roaches before I stopped counting, and couldn't relax. I cleaned the room myself, bought trash bags to wrap my things, kept all the lights on, and couldn't leave food or soda out. There were roaches in the shower and around the toilet too. I had to make jokes just to get through the stay, and they wouldn't refund me. The room was nasty from the start, with burned holes in the blankets and a disgusting fridge whose door wouldn't close properly. Room #15 needs repairs and a proper treatment for roaches. They should stop sitting on the money from those rooms and get the hotel sprayed.

The people were very friendly, and the price was affordable. There's a store you can walk to and a car rental place across the street. But the property is dated, the rooms are small, and the only view is of a parking lot. No breakfast, and the only extras are laundry and free wifi.
