avid hotel Staunton by IHG

The pool was clean, warm, and available whenever I wanted to use it, which made it easy to relax. Breakfast was well stocked with oats, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, and other choices. Ravi, the cook, was especially friendly and made the meal even nicer, and the rest of the staff were kind and welcoming. I had a comfortable, enjoyable stay at avid hotel Staunton and would happily return.

The floors were my one real concern. I like that this pet-friendly hotel uses vinyl, but when my dog splashed a little water by the bathroom sink, wiping it up with a facecloth showed how dirty the floor was. IHG should make sure cleaners have enough time and proper mops to clean between guests. Otherwise, the rooms and halls were quiet, the temperature controls worked well, and the clean, comfortable linens made up for a somewhat soft bed. A large group of moms and teen daughters was socializing in the lobby that night, but it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was okay, though choices were very limited, and the area was tidy. I booked Avid on my road trip for its working EV chargers and reasonable pet fee. I'd stay again.

The rooms were so clean I felt fine snuggling on the bed with my dogs. The pool had great acoustics. Breakfast was serviceable, but nowhere near the quality I'm used to at a Holiday Inn. There was no pancake maker, and the sausage and muffin or donut choices were limited.

We've returned more than once and always enjoy staying here. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the staff are friendly, and the free breakfast has plenty of choices.
