The Midnight Slip looked and felt great, and the host, server, and chef were all wonderful. Cupid even covered dinner before I could pay, which was a sweet surprise. My boyfriend and I were there for a romantic Valentine’s dinner, my treat since he often spoils me by cooking (and he’s good at it; I hate cooking, lol). I tried a bit of everything: prime rib with au jus, chicken pasta, mashed potatoes, bourbon-glazed carrots, roasted Brussels sprouts, and rolls. Dessert was crème brûlée and chocolate-covered strawberries. It was all delicious, though I had to leave some prime rib because I was full and wanted room for dessert. I hope they hold more dinners like this.

We’ll definitely come back for a weekend when we can enjoy the town’s summer or fall activities. There’s plenty of parking, and the basement speakeasy looks like a fun spot for parties. At checkout we met the owner, Brock, who’s clearly put a lot of work into making this a first-class restaurant, bar, and hotel. The food was delicious. The double smash burger was moist and tasty, the fried Brussels sprouts were the best I’ve had, and the pizza had plenty of mozzarella and toppings with a perfectly baked crust. I also liked the maple whiskey old fashioned, which was different from the regular kind. Our room was large, with a wonderful firm, comfortable bed. The staff were so friendly they made us feel like family. Patty was helpful at check-in, and Rachel was a cheerful, smiling server and bartender. You could tell they enjoy working there.

We had the ribeye and ravioli at the restaurant, and both were excellent. The food was delicious, and everyone working here was really friendly. Our room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable.

The service was great, and the 24-ounce ribeye was the best steak I’ve had in a long time. If you come here, order it.

We came in for dinner on Saturday during a frigid weekend, and it was lovely to sit in the cozy dining room and watch snow fall on Main Street in the moonlight. Audubon's was open while many businesses had closed, so we were glad we could still have a nice meal. Rachel was prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious. I had the pork chop, and my date got the pork burger. This is a restaurant-only review. We didn’t stay at the hotel. We visited Ste. Genevieve two weeks ago during the snowstorm, when the town got the most snow in the area, 13.8 inches. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
