All in all, it was a wonderful stay. I'm a truck driver, and this place was much nicer than the usual spots I stay at. The staff were nice, and I appreciated the keypad check in. The one issue was my own fault: I hadn't read the reservation carefully and didn't realize smoking was banned across the whole property. I was charged even though I smoked outside. The woman on the phone was courteous and explained I could walk across the street to smoke.

The price was good and the location was okay. We got the room code in advance, and it worked on the first try. The bed was a bit too firm for my wife.

This clean, updated little mom and pop place was very nice and comfortable, and the online check in was quick. I strongly recommend it over an overpriced chain hotel, unless you travel with pets. I drive cross country for work with my 5 # service dog, and after a 12 hour drive I left him in the room while I went to sit down and eat. The hotel charged my card an extra $100. He doesn't bark, and I'm 100% sure they came into my room to see him and decided he was an imposition to other guests. You wouldn't even know he'd been there unless he left a kernel of food on the floor. Do NOT recommend if you have pets, service or not.

I booked the wrong dates for a business trip, but the host adjusted my reservation quickly and efficiently and sent the room details within 15 minutes. I had a wonderful stay at the Oakwood Inn. They went above and beyond, and they've earned my loyal business for years to come. I'll be back.

This little hotel has a lot more personality than the big name places, and the value and quality really impressed me. It was clean, quiet, and cozy. The corporate hotels around here can't compete. Thanks for a nice stay.
