Washington Dulles Airport Marriott

We paid 238$ for one night with two beds. Being right next to the airport is handy, but you'd think that would include decent wifi. Instead it was 13$ for 500KB speeds like it's 2005, and modern internet cost even more. We set the thermostat to 67 for the night, but it turned itself back up even though it was 53 outside. The fridge can only be switched on for 8 hours at a time too. This place nickels and dimes you like crazy.

We booked a room for my 19 YO daughter because she had a 7am flight and we wanted to avoid an Uber or public transit at 4am. We didn't know this was a 21 or older hotel. They wouldn't check her in without a form signed by me. I filled it out and emailed it as requested, but their email system blocked my message, and they denied ever receiving it. The hotel had no fax number, so I sent the completed form to my daughter to show them. They rejected that too. When she asked what options she had, the receptionist said, "well, you can talk to my manager," and walked away. Eventually my daughter asked if she could send the form to one of their personal email addresses. That worked, but then they walked away without checking her in. The whole process took 1 hour and 20 min, from 5-6:20pm on 3/6/26. They kept helping other customers, repeatedly answering phone calls while ignoring her questions, and walking away without explaining anything. I was on the phone the whole time. Imagine how worried we were about her. Do not send your loved ones here. Maybe someone wants to investigate which front desk receptionists were working then.

The staff were consistently professional and courteous, and the restaurant has been a repeat destination for me. Its staff are hospitable, and the food has met my expectations. Still, several parts of this two night stay were frustrating. Housekeeping tried to enter despite the do not disturb sign, and my husband had to rush to get dressed. Later, when I asked the older woman I assumed was the lead housekeeper for a fresh towel in exchange for my used one, she questioned my room number and said housekeeping had already been by. I found that unnecessary and somewhat impolite when I only needed a towel. My late checkout request didn't work as expected. The young man at the front desk took my card and seemed to process it the night before, but after 11am, when I'd been told checkout was at 12pm, the card stopped working. A red light flashed when I tried to enter the lounge. A kind front desk woman helped me get access, though. I felt the tall gentleman was just telling me what I wanted to hear about checkout and availability. As a Bonvoy member, it would be nice to have checkout around 1pm. I've stayed until 2pm at other hotels. The hotel was especially busy during a chess match tournament, with crowds congested by the elevators. Parking seems to have been added a few months ago, though when I asked exactly when it started, I was told it had been that way for a while. Almost $40 for two nights, or $17 a day, feels steep without a clear explanation for the added cost, especially without upgrades or decent complimentary coffee. The coffee in the room usually isn't tasty or enough. I asked for some from the lounge while turning in my key. Staff were generally very helpful and professional, but some of these details need attention.

This is a standard airport hotel that makes it easy to get in and out. The airport is close, about a 5min free shuttle ride or a 15min walk from the terminal. Staff were friendly and courteous, and the concierge lounge is open 24 hours. Like other airport Marriotts on the east coast, the decor is a bit dated and there's some wear and tear, but I had a good experience.
