Days Inn Stillwater

The maintenance guys made this two-night stay better than it might've been. At first I couldn't reach anyone by phone, but a friendly handyman helped me get my key and find my room. At checkout, the front desk was empty, so another maintenance worker called management and got me checked out properly. They clearly care about guests, even though that's not technically their job. The room was basic but clean, and housekeeping had been through before I arrived. At around $60 a night, it did what I needed: somewhere simple to sleep. Phone service was spotty, and they seemed to prefer the booking app to helping in person. It had an older motel feel, a slight cigarette smell, and I found one roach, but nothing made it unlivable. If you need an affordable place and keep your expectations in check, it works.

It's wild that he calls all the bad reviews fake. I booked there before and stayed three other times without any problems, but on this last booking he said I wasn't allowed to stay and told me to contact booking for a refund. I was never told I couldn't stay there before. Booking sent him the email he said he needed for the refund. I told him they'd sent it, and he just kept telling me to contact booking. Then he said my wife smoked in the room, destroyed it, and we checked out late. I work all day and had never heard any of this before. This was the first time I'd booked that way. He told me safe travels, but I live in Stillwater and only needed the place temporarily. He stole my money, and I'm calling him a temporary thief because there's no way I'm letting him keep it and walking away. I work 60 hours a week for my money. This is over $35, but even if it were only a dollar, I wouldn't let it go. A man who steals is no man at all.

The rooms were clean, the prices were affordable, and the staff were wonderful: kind, helpful, and quick to respond.
