Residence Inn by Marriott Stillwater

The stay was decent, though not the best I've had and far from the worst. The hotel is undergoing renovations, which I appreciate. Staff sorted out most of the problems I ran into. At check-in, my first room hadn't been made up at all, so the front desk moved me. The replacement was better. Housekeeping came every second day, but only made the bed and didn't change the linens, and the trash beneath the kitchen sink was never taken out. The door also stuck and was very loud to open, as if there were some kind of glue around the frame. I didn't mention that last issue to the desk.

We booked two rooms for two nights with my family, and the service was disgusting. My first room had half-eaten food and drinks left behind for who knows how long. They moved me, but the new room had no hot water. My brother's door lock broke, leaving him unable to get to his room and his dogs. He went back to the front desk repeatedly for hours. No one came to look at the door until 11:30pm. When he asked for another key, the staff member ignored him, laughed in his face, then turned to gossip with a coworker. The rooms were filthy and the staff were highly unprofessional. We won't be back.

The staff and management were the nicest I've ever met. They made us feel right at home, and our stay was wonderful. Five stars, and I'd give more if I could!

We ended up sleeping in a bed that hadn't been cleaned, and the promised room move never came through. We checked in at 2:20 AM and found the bed unmade with unchanged sheets. I reported it to the front desk, waited 25 minutes, then learned the staff member who'd offered to move us had left and nobody else could help. At checkout, the desk said the manager would call me, but I still haven't heard anything. I've tried calling several times and emailed the manager too, with no reply. The worst experience ever.
