I spent several months at Days Inn and the LaQuinta Inn in Stockbridge with my elderly mother while I searched for a rental home. I paid a lot to keep her out of a dangerous, drug-infested place, but the issues caused or left unfixed by General Manager / Owner Al Patel kept me stressed. I wouldn't rent at either place again. He seems to worship money. My mother has dementia and had an accident in bed. I cleaned it well, but because it was still wet afterward, I was told I had to pay a $100 deposit since the room couldn't be rented. That wasn't true, because it was rented the next day. Charges were also put on my card without my knowledge or approval. Days Inn has bed bugs, and he is too cheap to fix it. I stayed a week at a time; if I called booking.com to get a lower room rate, he charged a $35.00 fee, among other issues. I also paid $25 daily for my mother's service dog. Beware, and don't let the bed bugs bite.

The room was in bad shape. Half the lights didn't work, and the floor lamp was broken and leaning against the wall. I had to jiggle it to get it on. The hair dryer was dead, and the GFI didn't help. The sink faucet was loose, the bathroom door had deep scratches all over it, and the bent front door let daylight through. Some pillows were only about 3 inches high and flat. We should've left. We won't stay there again.

The bed was pretty good, but the pillows need replacing. The toilet rocked when you sat down, and the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall. I booked a pet-friendly room, which made me think the pet was included, but there was an extra $25.00 per night cleaning fee. If it was for cleaning, it should've been charged once, since our room wasn't cleaned until checkout. Without these issues, it would've been a four-star stay.

The room was clean and odor-free, but it was badly worn, with damaged walls and flooring coming loose. The toilet shifted when you moved it, and the toilet paper holder was about to fall off the wall. The real shock was being charged $125 for a room listed much cheaper. After driving 12 1/2 hours, I was too tired to argue about it.

The room was fairly clean, and the staff were really friendly. My only problem was the door. It looked like it had been kicked in before, wouldn't shut all the way, and had a gap at the bottom corner big enough to fit my fingers through. Otherwise, it was a pretty good stay.
