Motel 6 Stockton, CA - Charter Way West

The rooms are very clean, and the staff are friendly. The air conditioner makes a noise every three minutes, though. For the price, don't expect too much.

The towel for drying off after a shower was the worst part. It had a big streak of dirt or soot, something that looked like a pube, and stains of several colors that I didn't want to guess the source of. Outside the motel, the area was plainly littered with hookers and felt unsafe. In the room, every surface, sheet, and towel had some kind of mystery stain, and some felt textured. There was also something on the wall that looked like dried blood. I felt like I could catch an STD just by being there. This was easily the worst hotel or motel stay I've had. I thought I knew what to expect from motels, especially since this one was rated relatively well, but I was wrong. I never usually write reviews, but this was so bad I felt I had to, to lower the score and maybe keep someone who doesn't know what they're getting into from making the same mistake.

The outside needs a major upgrade, but the rooms were clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. After checking in, I found the TV didn't work. They told me they all had the same black screen, so I switched rooms. In the new room I could just barely see Monday night football.

The place is mostly okay, but some of the front desk staff should be more helpful instead of pushing the issue along. They could also be nicer. If you're trying to make money, be calm and courteous to people.
