Comfort Inn Story City

The rooms were clean and they even took my trash each day. Still, with only five cars in the lot, I was put on the third floor among people with loud TVs and traffic in and out all night. There were just 70 rooms and, by my estimate, at most 10 guests, yet every room across from and beside mine was occupied. It felt like they’d grouped us together to make cleaning easier, at the expense of our comfort.

The breakfast turned out to be fresh, delicious, and carefully served, with each pastry wrapped individually. The room was just as good, and checkout went smoothly. Heather and Cassie made the stay, though. After 12 hours driving across the country and another two hours looking for a hotel, we called Heather. She helped make the choice worthwhile and worked with Cassie to find us a deal good enough to travel back away from our destination. They told us about Iowa and the rooms and breakfast, and even offered to hold some Iowan corn for me since I love corn. They chatted warmly and asked about us, which made us feel much better about the trip. The stay beat my expectations.

I could hear every door slam all evening, so this place was definitely not quiet. At least it seemed clean. The bed was the bigger problem for me: hard and worn out. I’d showered before I remembered to check it, and they’re probably all like that. I spent 25k points for this stay, which feels like a waste. The Super 8 up the road would’ve cost only 7,500 points. I’m so sick of this BS!

I’ve stayed here four times this year, and I’ll be back next year when I’m heading this way again. After a 17 hour drive from Saskatchewan, checking in late was easy, and everyone was great. The room was quiet, the bed was VERY comfortable, and I fell asleep within 10 minutes. Breakfast was excellent too. The location worked perfectly for my trip to M.H. Eby trailers, just across the interstate. Thank you for the amazing service! Chris
