Best Western Sturgis Inn

I’ve never had a bad stay here, and pets are welcome too. The rooms have all been redone in a lovely mahogany style. I also enjoy the pool and hot tub. During donation season, after the rally, local items are passed along to nonprofits that need them. Breakfast is a real treat: this morning it was Belgian waffles and biscuits with gravy. They often have eggs as well, and there’s an attendant keeping the food hot.

After a long drive, the indoor pool and hot tub were just what we needed. We got a large, clean room with a cozy couch and beds, a roomy bathroom, and plenty of soft towels. Everyone on staff was really sweet, and the area around the hotel was quiet. The price was surprisingly affordable, too. This was the best stop on our cross-country trip, and I’ll make a point of staying here again if I’m back nearby. Thanks to the staff!

The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there was plenty of space in the room. Still, I wouldn’t come back. It wasn’t as clean as it should’ve been: there was a big brown stain on the bedcover, mold in the shower, and dust all over the AC and heater. The toilet paper was almost gone, the tissue box was empty, and the sink only drained if I held the stopper up. Dogs barked constantly, despite the place supposedly being pet free. Getting to the room meant going through the pool area, climbing two flights of stairs, then leaving through another door. That was a real hassle with heavy bags.

Quiet place, and the room was clean and comfortable. The tub drained a little slowly. Breakfast was ridiculous, though. They’d run out of everything, coffee included. Maybe you could make a waffle, but there was no syrup or utensils.
