Holiday Inn Lake Charles W - Sulphur

The mattress was the most comfortable I’ve had in a hotel in a long time. We stayed one night, May 15th, and I only had two issues. Live music from the restaurant was so loud that we could hear it in our room, even though I had to get up early Saturday. It would’ve been nice if they’d turned it down. The shower water pressure was also really low. Otherwise, honestly, it’s not a bad place.

I stay at a lot of hotels around here, and this one sets the bar. It feels modern, clean, and well looked after, with spotless, comfortable rooms. The staff are professional and respectful, and everything went smoothly from check-in to checkout. To me, it’s the nicest hotel in Sulphur and Lake Charles. Highly recommend for work or personal trips.

The staff were kind, professional, and genuinely helpful, and I appreciated how accommodating they were when problems came up. Unfortunately, the rooms need serious work. The AC in my first room didn’t work, so I had to move. In the second, the bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned, and visible spiders around the sink were unsettling. The bathroom edges had dirt buildup, and cracked floor tiles shifted underfoot. The bedding also had marks and stains, making it feel poorly maintained. With better cleaning and upkeep, this place could be much better.

The room was spacious and luxurious, with a king size bed and two big screens. But in Room 415, the phone and the USB ports by the bed didn’t work. Also, if your flight arrives after 10pm, the hotel doesn’t provide a fresh dinner. You have to get packaged food and water from the pantry.
