Studio 6 Extended Stay - Summerville, SC - Charleston

It was fairly full, yet quieter than I expected. The rooms are bigger than average and exceptionally clean. The location is handy for several shopping centers and places to eat, and it's close to everything. A solid budget option.

We found used drug items in the room, including heroin needles, syringes, and spoons. My 13-year-old son was the one who came across them. When I reported it, the manager brushed it off like it wasn't a serious problem. On top of that, the WiFi was barely usable for the last three weeks. We kept having to remind employees about washcloths, hand towels, and bed linens, until we finally gave up and bought our own towels so we wouldn't have to bother anybody. I rented this room for three weeks, and there was also an unannounced increase to the reservation price. I reported all of it to the manager and didn't even get a hint of a partial refund. I'm just expected to put up with this. Absolutely the worst.

Miss Leah was the one person who tried to help. She was polite, kind, and did everything she could, including giving me a statement confirming what had happened. I hope she's not punished for doing the right thing. The others involved, including Expedia, were rude and uncooperative. We were kept from checking in for two hours, then given a dirty room. There was food and dirt in the bed, stained pillows, food on the kitchenette, hair all over the bathroom towels, and the towel rack was halfway out of the wall. After showering, my girl put a towel on her head and only then noticed human feces on it. The cleaning crew had gone home, so there were no supplies to clean with, and the hotel was full, so they couldn't move us. Since I had booked through Expedia, they said they couldn't refund me. They left us in that room all night without cleaning it or offering another room. My debit card had been charged so much that it was frozen, leaving me stuck there. They later refunded the two days and told me to go to a different hotel. I needed documentation for that, but they wouldn't give me anything on motel 6 letterhead. They printed a statement, then later said the woman shouldn't have done that. At first she was pleasant, but after that they were rude and refused to help. They wouldn't give me a complaint number, let me speak with a manager, or tell me how to reach corporate. This whole mess affected my life, and my girl left me over the humiliation. With acne on her face, she now has to go through multiple doctor checkups to make sure she didn't contract anything. I've done hospitality, housekeeping, maintenance, and janitorial work, and I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. I hope they make better decisions than I did. I have pictures and will post a video. Stay across the street at the surestay by Best Western. It costs a little more, but the hotel is beautiful and the staff are friendly and respectful. Motel 6 ruined my life.

The woman with dyed hair was rude when I checked in, and WiFi only worked near the office, not in my room. My son was really bored. I'm upset I paid for things I didn't get, and I won't recommend this motel.
