Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Sumter

The room rates were quite reasonable, and breakfast each morning was great, with omelets, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice and coffee. The rooms are a bit old, with chipping and peeling. Shaw AFB is very convenient from here, and Swan Lake Iris Gardens is about ten minutes away.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at cc that Holiday Inn & Suites. The coffee was the best I've had at a hotel in a long time. They have two machines that grind the beans and brew fresh, hot coffee, and a woman said IHG hotels are switching to these. We loved the cinnamon rolls, so that was our breakfast with coffee. The bed was very comfortable, the room and property were clean, and the shower had strong pressure and hot water. The TV was larger than ones I've had at hotels before and had most channels. Great location and friendly employees. The other breakfast food didn't look too bad either. Not one complaint, everything was perfect.

The staff were pleasant and courteous, but I was startled by the area on our way in. I only learned after arriving that this hotel is in what I found described online as one of the town's highest-crime areas for crime, murder and assault. We were traveling with a young family, so I'm sharing this in case others aren't aware and want to look for lodging elsewhere. There were also eaten chicken bones all over the stairs leading to our room.

I love staying here whenever they have a room available. It's clean every time, the staff from housekeeping to the front desk are always amazing, and the food is good. The location is great, close to everything.
