The breakfast was pretty good, though it was the same each day. The renovated rooms looked nice, with laminate floors and firm, comfortable beds. But there’s still work to do. The outside didn’t feel inviting, the room walls were thin, and the noisy crowds were especially noticeable at night. Since the rooms open to the outside, that noise was hard to ignore.

Alice from housekeeping was great and checked in with me every day. The rest of the stay felt neglected. The place is dated and seemed overpriced, and the room maintenance was lacking: the door didn’t close properly, the door magnets didn’t work, the bathroom towel hooks were broken, and the toilet seat was broken. A light by the pool also flickered at night.

After two days of the toilet working fine, I came back from work to find my room had been cleaned and a bar of soap left in the toilet bowl. I told the front desk, got a plunger, and tried for 15 minutes, but couldn’t clear it. They moved me to another room after that. I’m putting a sign on the door so housekeeping doesn’t come in before I leave. When I first checked in, the toilet had overflowed after one flush. The desk offered another room, but I wanted to avoid moving and asked for a plunger or maintenance help. They had no maintenance person, so I used the plunger they gave me.

For one night it was okay, except the mattress was hard, so avoid it if that doesn’t work for you. The renovated rooms were clean, though the bathrooms were small. Breakfast was basic motel fare, with egg patties, waffles, drinks, bread, and cereal. It’ll fill you up. I saved $40 booking through Vio.com, and had no trouble, but confirm your reservation before you arrive. The stay went smoothly, despite all the complaints people seem to make.
