AC Hotel by Marriott Tallahassee Universities at the Capitol

The staff were kind, and the restaurant and bar were convenient. We also had a great location and clean, comfortable rooms. After checkout, we realized our 9-year-old had left a stuffed animal keychain behind. Someone went to look between the pull-out couch and found it, then mailed it to us. That was such a thoughtful gesture.

The staff were consistently friendly and professional, and I enjoyed taking walks in nearby Cascade Park during breaks in my conference. My west-facing room on the fifth floor looked toward a building across the street, which didn’t feel like a premium view, though I suspect the other side may not offer much more to see. The room’s sparse setup was a surprise: just two drawers and no closet. That worked for me traveling alone, but I wouldn’t choose it for a family. The pillows were much too soft for my taste, although I realize hotels can’t suit everyone’s preferences.

Reggie and Brittney at the front desk made me feel part of the FAMU graduation celebration right away. They were warm, upbeat, and professional, and even arranged an early room. The valet was welcoming too. I’d never stayed at the AC Hotel or visited Tallahassee before, and the service made a great first impression. My room had a private balcony, a glass-door refrigerator, and spotless decor. The hotel still looks new despite being around four years old, and it’s clear someone keeps it in great shape. I was on the gym floor, so the facility was close by, whether or not I actually worked out. Seeing my name on the TV with a personal welcome was a lovely touch. The whole stay felt modern, clean, and full of good energy. I felt valued from the moment I arrived, and I’m now a Bonvoy member for life. Reggie and Brittney deserve recognition. I’m a Titanium Elite member and was meeting another Ambassador member at the hotel. We met in the lobby later in the evening, but a security guard harassed both of us when we decided to continue our business meeting in the room instead of staying out in the open. As I was leaving, I tried to give the front desk my information. The woman there was rude and essentially blamed me, saying I had been profiled because of how I walked in and the time I arrived. I’ve traveled extensively over the past two years, especially in this area, and my company and I will never use this hotel. I’m curious whether the manager will call me back to address what happened.
