Hotel Duval, Autograph Collection

Kristin at the coffee and breakfast shop made my mornings better. She was always smiling, friendly, and attentive, and I started looking forward to getting coffee and breakfast there. Those little interactions can really improve a stay. Richard at the front desk also deserves recognition. He gave me a genuinely warm welcome, made check-in easy, explained things clearly, and made sure I had what I needed before heading to my room. He seemed to care about guests rather than just going through the motions, which made a difference after a long travel day. Both of them represented the hotel well, and I appreciated how they treated me.

The staff made the weekend especially enjoyable. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, helpful, and courteous, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We liked the fun speakeasy bar, and both the drinks and bartender were great. The included breakfast was good too. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect, and the rooms were clean and very comfortable. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

Some areas could use a little TLC, but the excellent customer service more than makes up for that. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the breakfast staff are especially kind and make our mornings better. We also like relaxing with a couple of drinks at Level 8 and taking in the rooftop views. Having Shula’s right on-site is incredibly convenient. We stay at Hotel Duval often for business, and every visit has been consistently wonderful. We always have a great experience and highly recommend it.

The check-in was smooth, and the employee who greeted us was very pleasant. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was good too, and we liked having a drink at the bar. But there were problems throughout the rest of our one-night stay. The TV wasn't working when we got back to the room. A technician tried several fixes, then a manager explained there was a technical issue and offered to move us. Since it was 9:45 PM and we had an early checkout, we stayed put. Earlier, the shower's polished black landscape rocks had been very uncomfortable underfoot, and its door leaked water onto the bathroom floor. The sink took ages to get hot water and wouldn't drain properly. In the morning we found a cockroach near the minibar. That was concerning, especially after the maintenance issues. At $145 for one night, we expected more from an Autograph Collection hotel. The staff were polite and helpful, but the stay was disappointing.
