Quality Inn Tallahassee

I’m a Choice Privileges Platinum member, and this was a horrible stay. No one was at the front desk; check-in meant dealing with a screen and doing everything at a kiosk. The room was dated and dirty, so before bringing in my things I checked for roaches and bed bugs. When I turned around, an employee, who I’m fairly sure was an owner, was watching through the window. I asked why he was watching me and whether he needed something, and he pretended he couldn’t speak English. The property reeked of skunk weed. I booked a much nicer hotel next door and checked out immediately. Other guests saw what happened, and several left too. I don’t recommend it.

The room was old, and the service was just okay. The key they gave us wouldn’t open one of the upstairs rooms, so we had to go back and forth several times before they assigned us another room in the middle of the night. It’s an okay place to rest while traveling. Breakfast was excellent.

We didn’t feel safe, and I’ll never stay here again. The room was so loud at night, with people screaming, banging on walls, and causing a commotion outside, and there was nobody to report it to. The prices are cheap, but what we went through wasn’t worth it. I brought cleaning supplies and cleaned the entire room before we could put our things down. It was cleaner when I left than when I arrived. We only stayed because we were six hours from home with nowhere else to go. The first room was disgusting: pee stains on the sheets, hair in the bed, and old used soap in the bathroom. My daughter could tell it hadn’t been cleaned, and it smelled like cigarette smoke. The two housekeepers I dealt with were polite and quickly moved us to another room. Simon at the front desk was nice while using the computer. The check-in process felt very off-putting. Breakfast was okay. The only good parts were Simon and the two helpful housekeepers.

It’s quiet here, and the location is convenient for getting around. There’s no elevator, so I have to be careful on the outside stairs as an older person. They do have several accessible rooms, and next time I’d probably ask for one or at least a room downstairs. There’s no room service, and they only come to the room every third day, though you can ask for extra things.
