Sailport Resort Waterfront Suites on Tampa Bay

The beach area was relaxing, the pool was very nice, and parking was easy. My husband and I spent a week here on vacation and had a wonderful time. Our room was lovely and well kept. We ate dinner and breakfast at the poolside restaurant, Big Bamboo bayside. The food was good, the service was great, and we felt secure in the area.

Our room was in the part of the building where they were spray-painting. The area wasn’t roped off, so we could easily have gotten paint on us. Management didn’t seem interested in our comfort. We just worked our way around the construction so we could enjoy the visit. Not sure I’d come back.

The location is really good, and the staff were decent too. There was a slight smoke smell in the room. We asked if we could move, but were told there weren’t any empty rooms. That may have been true since we were there on Memorial Day. For the price, it was good overall.

I ended up at Sailport because the Hampton Inn down the street, where I used to stay for work, was full. I’m glad it was. For about what I’d pay for a standard Hampton room, I got what felt like a resort, with a full kitchen, living room, separate bedroom and bathroom, and a balcony over the Bay. There’s also a small private beach, a pool, a restaurant, and plenty on the property. It felt like a full-size condo for the price of a tiny room. I think I’ve found my new work hotel in Tampa. Great job, Sailport team, especially Al, Lisa, Damien, AnnMarie, and Chuck. See you next time!
