JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

The lobby is lovely, with lots of seating, and the bellmen were awesome. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we were upgraded to a balcony with a lovely view. The toilet kept running, though, so I had to ask the front desk to arrange a repair. Housekeeping did a nice job, but the staff spoke very little English, which made communication difficult. The front desk was overwhelmed during one of the hotel's three biggest conferences of the year. Leaving was a mess. Valet took an entire hour, and I kept walking up and down the street trying to find my car. There was no system, and nobody could tell me who had my keys or where the car was parked. Hotel manager, if you book a huge party for the night one of your biggest conferences ends, you need four times the valet staff and those two massive party buses blocking traffic for blocks need to park off-property.

The city views were great, the atmosphere was really nice, and the rooms were fabulous. Check-in went smoothly, and I think the rooms had been renovated recently. There's a good setup for business, with lots of computer ports. I don't usually care for hotel restaurants when I'm traveling alone, and Tampa doesn't have many local restaurants close by, so Uber Eats came to the rescue. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Alison took complete ownership of my request and sorted it out efficiently, then went even further to help me. I've never had service this good, or met such a well-trained professional. Thanks for a great stay.
