Alupang Beach Tower

The patios have lovely views, but the paint is peeling and they don’t seem to get regular upkeep. The location is excellent. Inside, though, the rooms feel neglected, with rust in the jetted tubs and an uncomfortable bed and couch. Having a kitchen helped with restricted diets, but there were barely any cooking tools, no dish soap or kitchen towels, and the bathrooms had big bath towels but no hand towels. Amenities overall were sparse.

The dishwasher in my room sprayed water across the kitchen and nobody fixed it. We weren’t offered any compensation for that or the other problems. The hot tub and gym had already been closed for months, and the floor in my room was dirty when I arrived. One of the three elevators was broken for half the week. There was no AC in the hallway while people waited for an elevator serving 12 floors.

The balcony view was stunning at sunrise and sunset, and the waves made a lovely quiet backdrop. I wish we’d stayed longer. Our room was huge and felt more like a home than a hotel, and for the price it was the nicest room I’ve had in my many trips to Guam. Check-in and checkout were quick, parking was convenient, and the beds were fairly comfortable. There’s also a small mart in the lobby with most things you might need or have forgotten. Thanks to the helpful staff for a great stay.

The beach nearby smelled strongly of sewage, so I wouldn’t recommend this place to visitors. The building feels dated, and the lobby, elevator, and hallways were hot. AC wasn’t cooling two of the three bedrooms properly. We gave the room time to cool, went out, and only realized near bedtime that the bedrooms were still warm. Management refused compensation for the miserable stay. It’s cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for.
