Santa Fe Hotel

You’ll need to be okay with older rooms and fewer modern conveniences to enjoy the local feel here. The views are stunning, the staff are really helpful and nice, and the hotel is locally owned. The rooms look like they’re from the 70s with few updates. Food is mediocre, the bar doesn’t offer much, there’s no laundry service, and not many restaurants or shops are within walking distance. If those drawbacks matter to you, a corporate place like Sheraton or Hilton may suit you better. If you appreciate some local charm, give this hotel a try.

I was really disappointed when I arrived. The rooms were dirty, with stained rugs and walls, dusty tables, and water on the bathroom floor. I tried to stay positive, but it didn’t feel clean or welcoming at all. The bathroom setup was bad too. Its door is a screen door, so there’s no privacy if you’re sharing the room, and there are no vents. There wasn’t even a phone in the room, which was a first for me at a hotel.

I saw the place again when a friend rented a room, and I liked the changes. The rooms are much cleaner than before, the carpet looks cared for, and they smell great. Taking out the coffee makers and other unnecessary things was a good idea. The view is great, too, and bravo to whoever runs housekeeping. The maintenance still needs to keep up with the rooms, though, because it makes housekeeping look bad. Hotel Santafe is quite different from how I remember it. The food is great, most of the staff are friendly, and at least the building is still standing. Keep up the good work. I can’t wait to be your guest. Thank you.

The waterfront is okay, with sand and water but no ocean waves, which can be nice when you want to avoid rough water and crowds. It’s also a convenient spot for getting back to the boat on time. I gave it four stars based on what you get for the price. It’s very cheap and decent enough. Friends have told me they got bad rooms, but if all you need is a bed away from the boat or whatever, it’s worthwhile.
