SunView Motel

We got in late Friday night, and a very helpful woman got us into a room right away. The rooms were really nice, no complaints, and I’d stay again. We were riding our motorcycles on the NEBDR, so we recommend this as a nice place to stay for fellow NEBDR riders passing through the area. Thanks again!

The staff were good, which is the only reason I’m giving this two stars instead of one. I come to motels to sleep, and this one was noisy. The room next to us felt like the people lived there, which was bizarre. At 10pm, they were banging on the tables loudly enough that I had to ask them to stop. The rooms are poor quality.

I really enjoyed the raised field behind the place, with its firepit, chairs, and nice view of the surrounding area. From the top, you can see Hunter Mtn. I stayed in a ground-level unit at The Sunview, and it was all very clean. The bedroom was nice and quiet, and the bathroom looked newly renovated, with a full shower and bath and great water pressure. The staff were friendly and accommodating, too. The kitchen had a decent-sized fridge, stove and oven, microwave, and a large sink. Bring your own utensils, since it isn’t fully stocked, though there were mugs, plates, bowls, frying pans, and a saucepan. The Wi-Fi was decent, and I could stream movies without any problems. There was also a front porch with a table and chairs.

This is a simple motel with few amenities, but it serves its purpose as a clean place to sleep and shower, and a base for other activities. The firepit on the hill, surrounded by Adirondack chairs, was a nice extra. I saw some guests using it when we arrived, though I don’t know if that’s a regular thing or weather permitting. The room was a little drafty, though you can adjust the temperature to compensate, and the road noise was quite noticeable. We used a white noise app to sleep. I didn’t notice any daily room service, and there was just one rickety chair in a room with two beds. Keep expectations modest and you won’t be disappointed. I’d stay here again if I were in the area.
