Creekside Inn Hotel

We spent two days dealing with room problems and then a manager who argued with us and denied what had happened. At check-in, the gentleman at the desk was kind and informative. Once in the room, we found a leaking fridge and a toilet that barely flushed. We were told someone would fix them, then that we’d be moved to another room. That room had a leaky shower that needed repair first, so after gathering our belongings, showering, getting ready, and loading the car, we went out for the day. While we were out, Creekside Inn called to say they couldn’t move us after all because the shower couldn’t be fixed. We asked them to repair the fridge and provide fresh towels and bedding, and they said that would be no problem. We returned after midnight to find the door unlocked, apparently left that way by maintenance, the wet towels still on the floor, and the trash still in the room. There were no clean sheets, towels, shampoo, or conditioner. We’d used those supplies before leaving for the day and packed up the whole room. We rang the office doorbell, called both posted numbers, left voicemails, and emailed, but nobody responded or was available. We had to use our beach towels to shower. The internet didn’t work during our whole stay. When we called, they said it was working, but it still wasn’t working when we returned or checked out. There was no TV without internet. On checkout day, we called to speak with a manager. She said she had personally gone into our room with housekeeping and seen it serviced, that the fridge had never leaked, and that the internet worked the whole time. We had call logs, time-stamped photos of the dirty towels, bedding, and trash, the empty complimentary toiletries, and emails showing we’d reported the missing linens right away. Only then did the “manager” offer 50% off our last night, because we could still use the toilet and sink. If they’d taken responsibility instead of acting like we were lying, this review might have been better. I don’t recommend this place.

The property was laid out conveniently, with parking right outside our room, two pools, and a shared relaxation area with loungers, shaded picnic tables, a barbecue, and a prep space that could be used to clean fish. We spotted several kinds of fish in the canal, and manatees were around often. My friend even saw a dolphin. There are restaurants on either side: one served fresh crab claws, and the other had amazing Italian food. We also watched pelicans gather to be fed by returning local fishermen. Our dog was welcome, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with a larger mini fridge and freezer. The only problem was the AC unit above our bed dripping onto a pillow. Check-in was easy, and the staff were very friendly. Office hours were limited, so be sure to arrive before closing, which was 5 o’clock during our stay. They use keys, one per adult, so be careful not to lock yourself out if there are multiple doors to your room. It was a comfortable, practical, affordable stay, and we’d return and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, well-equipped spot.

The rooms are small, but since we only needed a place to sleep, it wasn’t too bad. Water pressure was basically nonexistent. The microwave and mini fridge were rusty inside, though they worked well. The mini fridge had a large freezer, and the AC worked great. Staff fixed the issues we did have in under ten minutes.

The staff were extremely rude and unwelcoming, and the whole place felt like a dump. It’s right on a busy road with loads of noise. Both pools were cold and very uninviting, and unusable for us. There was no hot water at all. If you’re “lucky,” they’ll service your room and then forget to lock it afterward. Go somewhere else. Don’t stay here!
