Golden Hills Motel

The park across the street was nice, and the air conditioner, fridge, pillows, and 24-hour office were positives. Being able to check in late helped. But the room was run down and bare, and not worth $100 a night. There was no coffee or clock, the sink was cracked and sprayed water everywhere, and the shower felt like a pressure washer. The seating was matted with years of grease, the blanket was stained and gross, and the towels were stained, threadbare, holey, and barely larger than hand towels. The room also hadn't been cleaned well.

We paid $90 a night and had a very nice stay. The room was clean, the bed was nice, and we had what we needed for our baby. The owner went above and beyond, even giving us an extra sheet to put over the pack n play so our boy could have more darkness during naps. Highly recommend!

The location is the only reason I gave it two stars. The rooms could use upgrades, especially the beds and pillows, and the towels were horrible. There wasn't an ice bucket in the room, either. Worst of all, they charged us $114 when the total was $95, and did nothing when we brought it up.

I didn't stay because the room was so disgusting. There was long black hair and other unidentifiable debris in the shower, the sink was cracked, and fixture knobs were missing. The towels and bedspread had deep stains. Under the bedspread, the old blanket was filthy, with hair, fuzz, and more mystery globs on it. That's just the start. The desk clerk refunded me without an argument, though he insisted housekeeping had cleaned the room. I told him to fire the housekeeper. I accidentally left a bottle of disinfectant wipes behind, but this place needs them more than I do. Simply awful.
