For $176 a night, this place was gross. Even at $50, I’d have thought I was getting what I paid for. I’d tell people to stay elsewhere or sleep in their car, which might mean a better night’s rest. The staff were okay, but that’s the end of the positives. I chose it for being near the airport and looking like it had the safest parking lot, and at least the parking did feel safe. The property was badly run down. The caulking was wrecked, the mattress pad stained, and the mattress was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. The floor might have been more comfortable if it had been clean. The little stovetop was crusty, the recliner was broken, the drains rusted, and the lighting was poor. The hallways were dark, dirty, and smelled bad. There were no amenities unless you paid extra, even for a spoon or dishcloth, and there was no shampoo or hair dryer. “Breakfast” was a few packaged muffins or instant oatmeal.

Our room was roomy and the staff were friendly, but they couldn’t solve most of the problems. They seemed worn down by the conditions and unsupported by corporate. One employee said they spend all day apologizing. Having worked in hospitality for years, I could tell they’d been trained to apologize for poor service rather than provide it. The room had awful beds, and the pullout had dirty laundry on it. We had to take it downstairs and wait hours for the laundry to finish because there weren’t spare blankets. The pullout felt like a pile of springs, and the floor might have been better. The bathroom was in disrepair and the shower leaked. Cabinets were worn through to particle board. There were no room amenities: you had to ask for a coffee maker or hair dryer, and they were out of hair dryers anyway. There was no phone to call the front desk, and when I called from my cell nobody answered. No Wi-Fi either, so bring your own data. Breakfast was one of our main reasons for choosing this place because traveling with kids gets expensive and hotel breakfast saves time and money. There wasn’t really breakfast, usually just mini muffins and coffee, and they’d run out of the muffins. There were a few Nutri-Grain bars. As we left as quickly as possible, I saw people leaving the lobby with coffee and heading off on BMX bikes. People on bikes and scooters around the lot seemed to be a regular sight, and I guess they got breakfast from the hotel even though they didn’t appear to be guests. Nice to feed locals, but paying customers went without. I saw the remains of a wrecked bicycle by the bike rack when we arrived and figured we were in trouble. The people hanging around the property made us uncomfortable. We worried our vehicle might be broken into, though thankfully it wasn’t. At check-in, a resident told staff their door wouldn’t latch and that they’d been waiting days for maintenance. Luckily, our door did latch and lock. After leaving a concert in Phoenix at 11 p.m., I seriously considered driving the four hours home instead of returning to the hotel. Paying for another hotel or having my family sleep in the vehicle both seemed better. I can’t believe we had to pay for this terrible stay. Run away.

It’s a quiet place with a pretty relaxing atmosphere. I wish there were more food options within walking distance, but Andrea is by far the best employee I’ve encountered. She’s kind, caring, and goes beyond what’s expected. She’s a great example of what customer service and genuine care should look like. I’ll recommend the place to friends who need somewhere to stay, largely because of her. Five stars.

The desk person was very nice, and the sheets seemed fresh. I didn’t see any bed bugs, either. Still, the area felt kind of sketchy, and the room itself was in rough shape, with cracked walls and makeshift repairs. Given the price we had to pay, it wasn’t worth it. I’d only choose it as a last resort if I were stuck after a cancellation.

The room is clean and comfortable, though you can tell it’s been well used and has some wear. What really makes this place is the team. Adam, when he’s on shift, has handled phone calls, personal deliveries, and toiletries I forgot, and he always follows through and then does a little more. The whole crew has helped me in so many positive ways. Coming back here after a stressful day feels a bit like coming home, with some nice extras.
