Budget Inn Temple

The maid did a great job, and we really enjoyed our room. The front desk lady was friendly and very helpful. It's an older motel, but a nice, safe place to stay. If we're back in Temple and need a room, we'll stay at the Budget Inn again.

The staff were awesome, and it was super quiet at night. The property is older and shows it if you look closely; my room definitely needs updating, though it served its purpose. I'd stay here again if I needed to. If you're after somewhere fancy, this isn't for you.

My husband and I are locals. A water line problem at home meant we rented a room for one night to shower. I rode my bike over in the morning and was immediately told by an apparent manager wandering around that I couldn't park there. When I asked where parking was allowed, he didn't answer and demanded ID. It apparently didn't matter that I was married to the person whose name was on the room. Before I could even show my ID, he was calling the police. There was no need for that, so I left without entering the room we'd paid for. The shower handles were sticky, the room lighting was harsh, neighbors were noisy, and there was trash all over the dumpster area. The place is overpriced, and the management or owner was horrible. Don't stay here unless you want to be needlessly harassed and threatened with police for no reason.

For a cheap place to sleep, the room wasn't bad at all. It was clean and cost about $55. Ours was a smoking room, so there were stains. The rooms seem to have been updated, and ours looked newly painted, though still dated. There appeared to be a lot of long-stay guests, but it was quiet and peaceful despite being so close to the highway. They'd lost breakfast, and all they had was coffee. I'd stay again if I needed a place in a pinch.
