Best Western Temple Inn & Suites

I was in town for a convention and needed to settle in before it began. Amber was hospitable and helped me get an early check-in, which I really appreciated. The hotel was clean, and the room was large, with a comfortable bed, hot shower water, and fast wifi. Breakfast was complimentary, hot, and plentiful. The facilities looked very good, and there's a handy side entrance for the rooms. One of the better places in the city.

The staff were friendly from start to finish, and the rooms were clean. The location worked out perfectly, right off the highway. We used a coupon the front desk girls gave us and walked next door to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. We'll definitely stay here again in Temple.

The quick response from the front desk host was the reason I gave even one star. After I showed the staff what I'd found, they moved me to another room for my last night. But I still need a manager to contact me about the full price I paid for a clean room and the night I spent in the original one. When I checked in, the room had a strange smell, like old wet carpet. The next day I found what looked like mold on the bed frame by where I had rested my head. It seemed stuck on, and I also saw it in the carpet. I don't believe it was dust, and the smell was there as soon as I entered the room. If housekeeping had cleaned and changed the sheets, this should have been noticed and reported. I asked to speak with a manager on the evening of 10/30/25, but none was on duty. I was told one would be there the morning of 10/31/25, then told they wouldn't come until Monday. That's unacceptable. Update, 10/31/25 at 11:47 a.m.: A manager named Mike contacted me, but brushed off what I'd found as dust. He said the housekeeper had cleaned and made the bed before I checked in, that dust doesn't grow on metal, and that the smell was just the AC. He personally wiped at it, but I had already tried and it didn't just wipe away. He pointed out that I was moved as soon as I found it, but I had already slept there for a whole night. Regardless of what it was, it shouldn't have been there for me to find. Mike said he could only give me some extra rewards points. That response is unacceptable. I'd like him to pay full price for a room and sleep with his head near something like that, breathing it in all night, then find it the next day. I promise he wouldn't be okay with it.

Meghna was very nice to my coworker and me, and got us checked in quickly. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely come back.
